Abstract

From the old Alhóndiga to a poly-functional building, architect Bastida never imagined that the wine store would become citizen meeting point with a dense atmosphere of iconicity apotheosis. In the post-modern Bilbao deep post-industrial urban renewal, stands elements out as almost hors lieu or ‘out of place’. Building complex in contrast to the ‘bright’ architectures ‘dream’ AlhóndigaBilbao complete the urban operations from the social justification. Facilities for public use dump more to citizenship than to tourism, but also with the impression that, from the ‘shadows of titanium’ reflecting on the water surface, a nod to a different aesthetic occurs whose inspiration is found in models of post-apocalyptic city like Blade Runner.
