Building distance as a methodological strategy. The argument of staging

Abstract

Article on the methodological dilemmas experienced during my research on sociocultural change in an area near to my own the place of residence, the proximity of witch has marked its methodological approach. Reflection on the need to put a distance and create estrangement between the object and the anthropological undertaking using a device I have called dramatization. Description of this methodological approach, used for direct observation or for the indirect reconstruction of the perceived reality, being the result of a series of strategies at the scientific and fictional level that allow the objectification, description and interpretation of the sociocultural reality.
